2010 Geelong Tournament

Our First ever Tournament was held on Saturday 20th February. It kicked off early for a one day event. While the weather was hot, competitors applied themselves well to the matches. 13 teams registered in total. 6 of which were the Under 15 squads preparing for their upcoming championships in Albury. The junior athletes were challenged by the competition.

Division 3 Women – Golden Square def Vic Blue 25 – 16, 25 – 17, 25 – 12
Division 3 Men – Red Rockets def Bendigo Sioux Spikers 25 – 14, 25 – 19, 25 – 10
Division 2 Men – Riddells Creek def Golden Square 25 – 17, 25 – 22, 25 - 17
The organising Committee would like to thank all teams that took part without which the tournament would not have been possible. Also we would like to thank our supporters

As with everything that is a first, there are always lessons learned and we will work through these into the organising and running of our next tournament.

Development Officer Appointment

The Association has recently appointed a Development Officer and the incumbent will commence full time duties on the 8th February. The Association congratulates Ray Nikolic on his appointment. Ray will promote the sport to schools and other organisations in the Geelong region. Being a full time position, it will provide a better and consistent approach to the delivery of the sport.
The initial area of interest is providing Spikezone (mini-volleyball) to Primary Schools in the area.
Ray will operate from the LeisureTime Centre on Anakie Road at Bell Post Hill.

Geelong Volleyball Tournament - 20th/21st February, 2010
We are hosting our first ever Tournament in Geelong, to coincide with the Association's 50th anniversary of providing volleyball in Geelong.
There will be six courts available under the one roof at the Leisuretime Centre in Bell Post Hill.

Summer Season 2010

Summer Season 2010 kicks off on 1st Feb 2010 (Start of school term)
Team entries must be in by Sunday 17th January. The draw will be prepared during the fortnight leading up to the start of the comp. Don't be disappointed.
